deepc, the company behind the leading AI operating system for radiologists and enterprise clinical organisations, today announces that it is joining the King’s Health Partners Digital Health Hub as an industry partner to help support the development of digital health technologies. Through the Hub, which officially launched this week, deepc will be supporting AI companies to meet the contractual, technical, regulatory, and data governance requirements necessary to be deployed in clinical settings, paving the way for scalable adoption of their technologies.
The King’s Health Partners Digital Health Hub is a national multi-disciplinary resource created to support the development of new digital health technologies in the UK and reduce the time it takes for these to benefit patients. The Hub enables activity across four key pillars: Training, Co-creation, Translation and Acceleration. By providing clinical, technical and academic expertise, industry partnerships and a physical location for technology developers to work together, the project aims to help new businesses grow, increase the availability of digital health technologies within the UK and make a more immediate difference to patients' lives.
The Hub is headquartered at the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE), a new facility dedicated to supporting medtech innovation and entrepreneurship. Created by King’s College London and embedded within the campus of St Thomas’ Hospital, part of the Guy's & St Thomas' Hospital NHS Trust, LIHE is the first medtech venture builder in the UK.
Founded in 2019, deepc is driven by a vision to help ensure precise and safe diagnostics for all patients and has a strong track record of helping AI providers deploy their technologies in clinical settings through a single integration solution. Through deepcOS, the leading AI operating system for radiologists and health systems, deepc allows healthcare providers to benefit from the rapid developments taking place within radiology AI without any of the technical, operational or commercial complexity. Today, deepc provides clinicians with effortless access to a range of regulatory-cleared, globally-leading AI solutions for more than 60 clinical indications.
As a Digital Health Hub partner, deepc will be focused on the Translation and Acceleration pillars. With a wealth of experience deploying scalable AI solutions into hospitals and clinics, deepc will be sharing its expertise with other AI-focused medtech startups, helping them to scale up quickly and avoid the pitfalls that come with navigating regulatory and technical challenges for the first time.
deepc is also opening its first UK office to support its work with the Hub and its partners. The office, which will be based at LIHE, will be dedicated to deepc’s work with the Digital Health Hub and to supporting the growth of deepc’s accelerating UK operations.
Dr. Franz Pfister, CEO and Co-Founder of deepc, said: “At deepc, we are passionate about removing the barriers that can prevent great medtech innovations from delivering real benefits for patients, clinicians and health systems. The Digital Health Hub’s mission to support institutions, clinicians and companies in developing AI solutions to improve patient care aligns closely with our own so we are proud to be joining the Hub as a partner to advance this important work. We are also excited to be opening our UK office at the heart of the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering to support our partnership with the Hub and our ambitious plans for growth in the UK.”
Professor Sebastien Ourselin FREng FMedSci, Director of King’s Health Partners Digital Health Hub, said: “The Digital Health Hub will drive greater collaboration between academia, healthcare services and industry to help accelerate the development of transformational digital health technologies that will make a significant difference to patients’ lives. We are delighted to have deepc, one of Europe’s leading medtech startups and genuine leaders in the field of radiology AI, as a partner.”
